The protected mission vehicle (PMV SURVIVOR II) is built with a crew cabin designed as a monocoque cell to provide the highest protection against:
- Ballistic threats (up to STANAG Level 3)
- Mines (up to STANAG Level 4)
It is based on a series truck chassis with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) up to 18t, three 100% differential locks and permanent four wheel drive. It comes with an optional fully automatic transmission so beside an introduced logistic (Nato) also a worldwide service is given.
Protected missions vehicles come in a range of sizes and styles, including a troop carrier with up to ten seats, a command and control vehicle, a transport vehicle and a protected ambulance vehicle. The vehicle is fitted with lashing points for air, sea and rail transportation.
Additionally the protection concept has been designed in a modular add-on concept in a way to upgrade the protection level in the future.

To develop protected vehicles it is essential that wide-ranging tests are carried out, to ensure that all materials are right selected. Therefore Achleitner has a dedicated in-house department which can carry out material and ballistic tests, enabling results to be quickly and flexibly obtained. Tests of ballistic protection properties are always carried out in accordance with internationally applicable standards and are only performed by certified institutes
