Aquisition Achleitner Fahrzeugbau by Magirus GmbH
Franz Achleitner-Fahrzeugbau und Reifenzentrum GmbH has signed an agreement with Magirus GmbH for the sale of its subsidiary Achleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH.
For Achleitner Fahrzeugbau, the partnership with Magirus presents an opportunity to take its own development to a new level. At the same time, integration into the Magirus Group will open up new markets and enable international scaling, which, in combination with a strong industrial platform, will accelerate growth and innovation.
Magirus, in turn, is continuing the consistent implementation of its international growth and transformation strategy. The transaction marks a significant expansion of the Defense business segment and strengthens the company's position as a leading provider of specialized vehicle solutions.
This deal will enable both parties to expand their product and service portfolios, consolidate their industrial footprint in Austria—an important strategic market—and open up new opportunities for close cooperation with customers and partners in the region.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.

Achleitner is a global name at automotive engineering and production of customized bodies, trailers and all-wheel-drive vehicles, as well as at the manufacturing of special vehicles prepared for police, military and paramilitary purpose - protected and unprotected. Located in Woergl/Tyrol, Austria all vehicles gets adapted and manufactured according to customer and mission requirements.
Starting with an individual and unique piece, optimized and innovative vehicle concepts are offered. Along the entire value-added chain the vehicles are developed to series, produced, thoroughly tested, type-approved and delivered with in house competence.
The basis therefore is the knowledge and practical experience of our specialists, which has been grown over decades. Consistent progress and investments in machinery, coupled with the courage to start Industry 4.0 view already in the 2000s, is what Achleitner makes a global player with highly complex vehicles systems.
At the beginning there was a traditional handcrafted blacksmith which was founded in 1932.
More than 9 decades of a regular solid development have been passed Achleitner already and the company - in 3rd generation - is family owned and managed. Highest concentration on and at the daily work of all involved parties - partners, customers, suppliers and employees - is needed to be able to achieve this.
